Pilot - Sqn Ldr Simon Johnston

Holds a display license for the Fury & has been flying it for the last three years. Started flying at 17 & now at 35 he has flown over 7000Hrs in 60 types of aircraft from Spitfire to Tornado, as well as 2500 glider flights.
A civilian pilot throughout he has 5500Hrs military flying for the Army, Navy & Air force.
He currently has an ATPL & Simon recently flew with the Red Arrows.

Since 1996 Simon has been flying for FR Aviation flying the Falcon 20 earning himself the role as chief pilot with over 6500Hrs on type.

However after 5 years of that role he has stepped down as chief pilot to a normal captain due to becoming the officer commanding of No. 642 Volunteer Gliding Squadron based at Royal Air Force Linton-on-Ouse. He is an A2* instructor at weekends for the RAFVR(T), & sent over 140 first solo’s.

He is the main display pilot for the Isaacs Fury and holds a display licence allowing him to complete aerobatic maneuvers and fly at 50ft.
